Santa has come to town

Filed under: nonsense — Girl on The Avenue @ 12:19 am

Yes it’s obvious, but a survey of Christmas kitsch seems apposite in Coburg. I’ll add more as (walking) time permits.

Speaking of Christmas kitsch, check out what I just bought at the St Augustine op-shop, Sydney Road, for fifty cents:

succulent

Also check out Dogpossum for some local tidbits and an all-round excellent Brunswick blogger.

  1. Any place that goes this nutsoid on the Chrissie lights usually has a Malaka-mobile parked out front — probably across the footpath.

Hope they’re on a Green Energy plan.

  2. Ho ho ho how unreasonable to attack the Moreland chrissy decor! Would we rather everyone left their homes ordinary like Bane’s obviously is? Our group recently held a grand Xmas party in Brunny and it so happens that we still have paper streamers hanging off the gate (now rather slumped in the recent downpour) but for your info, it’s Art, capital A and though I don’t know much about it I know what we morelanders like. And what’s a few extra Kw of power while the kiddies’ Santa is in town compared to the 3744 tonnes of CO2 emitted annually by Southbank Towers apartment block?

  3. It’s a waste of power, but Leonardo is correct – compare the kw of power with all those city buildings that leave their lights on overnight. I love the Chrissy decorations, the tackier the better, especially when they’re still there in June. It’s really something when people get really competitive about it, too. Sure beats the Myers windows for a free gawk.
