Yet another waste of money and effort by Moreland City Council’s hardworking Department of the Patronising and Bleeding Obvious.
Still, I suppose if we have that “dikka dikka’ sound at traffic lights to assist the blind, we should probably have signage like this to assist the totally confused and utterly stupid.

I wonder how long and how many consultants’ fees this one took.

Breathtakingly beautiful! It’s like a Claes Oldenberg sculpture of a Stanley Knife blade! Truly inspired!
what an odd thing to clog up the pavement with, a kind of municipal stele. i’m surprised it complies with the Moreland Outsourced Street Furniture Guidelines. oh no, we’ve not got a consultant to write them yet.
Good Lord, Will, you’re right! It is a stele! It marks the death throes of Brunswick as we knew her. I shall call it Stele Dan, and I shall henceforth have reverence for it.
Why does it taper to such a sharp point? Doesn’t Council realise someone tall, lanky and clumsy could stumble and put their eye out? Damn thing’s a menace! They’ll be rueing the day they installed these bloody steles when an army of one-eyed litigants cleans out the council coffers. Forethought, people!

Actually, this is just the thing to slap a band gig poster or lost dog notice on. Thanks, Moreland CC!

You should see the one in Bonwick St. Fawkner. Firstly, you can easily see the sign marking the end of the precinct from the one marking the start, and secondly, you know you’re there because you have people driving like loons, idiot kids on bikes without helmets, and old people wandering out into the street without looking.
